For quite some time, I've held strong reservations about models pursuing acting careers. The worst cases would be Cindy Crawford and Tyra Banks. I think the films they've done are worse than kitsch. There's also Milla Jovovich whose choice of roles I am rather iffy about. Over time, I've seen significant ones like that of Laetitia Casta and Audrey Marnay but maybe that could be because I'm evidently partial to French Cinema. Anything that has to do with Hollywood is nothing more than a spittoon or a very dirty lavatory. D'ailleurs, Rie Rasmussen's film making debut in Human Zoo seems rather promising who first left an impression on me in Luc Besson's Angel-A. Why would you not want a guardian angel who wears high heels, little black dresses, and smoky eyes all the time, non?! Now, Liya Kebede stars in this film by Sherry Hormann inspired by the life of Wharis Dirie. I was taken away by the bande-annonce and it certainly is no simple subject matter what this film is dealing with. Suddenly, I think I am getting carried away as I have been reading a couple of things about the disembodiment of women in the tiers-Monde (or at least that is how the bloody West depicts people like us), their silence and their invisibility in history. In any case, I have a very strong conviction that this is a must-see!!

Liya is so beautiful. It was a pleasant surprise for me that she was in The Good Shepard (though id hardly call it acting since she had maybe 60 seconds of screen time, and 1/2 of that was a photograph)
I haven't seen many of milla's movies, but I remember when I was young I saw her in Joan of Arc, and I remember her being phenomenal.

Liya has, for me, one of the most remarkable faces in modeling. Ever. And Waris has one of the most remarkable stories. Ever. This venture is oozing with promise!
