In general, Cotillard is disgusting these days because of too much exposure in the land of the amerloques but I can't resist a Cotillard + Canet pairing for the sake of cheese (or maybe not) !!!! Well, I think this is an interest on the part that I want to see a serious pairing of the two to topple my experience seeing Jeux d'enfants. That said film made me include the line ''cap ou pas cap?'' in my daily vocabulary. I've never seriously taken Cotillard as an actor not until Olivier Dahan's La Môme, that Edith Piaf biopic that was substantial enough for the cinephile in moi but not until bloody Hollywood touched it. It left a bad aftertaste really no matter how good Cotillard was in it. In every sense, there's always that purist in me taking its course in an inevitable manner. It's like I would never want a Catherine Breillat or a Bertrand Bonello to be touched by the Golden Globes or the Oscars... JAMAIS! Somehow, Karim Dridi's Le Dernier vol, seems like one on a promising note I must say. I was taken away by the BA (or theatrical trailer as we know it en anglais). Plus, I also do take a certain fancy over the costume department in this particular production. Neutrals and a white shirt seem very visually appealing against a backdrop of sand dunes.
