Pornography in the Baudrillardean sense kills every desire possible as it takes everything out there stripping the image to a nullity. In the end, nothing is left for the spectator or the voyeur to dwell on or to generate a stronger desire. Whether we are dwelling on the absence or the extermination of desire or the presence of it, pornography could sometimes be used as an interesting premise in fashion. In this regard, I just couldn't get over how humorous this particular editorial from Numéro Homme is and I seriously could not stop giggling over this one. My favourite has to be Emanuelle one. In any case, this doesn't bear eroticism in Araki like airs or in a Helmut Newton or Robert Mapplethorpe kind of manner but on the ridiculous sexual economy of generating images that are supposed to encourage desire.
