The art world is finally gaining its full blown control on me or at least that's how I'd like to think of it. Since I'm basically an Art History major I might as well exploit the whole packaging kind of mechanism. For instance, there is what you call the artist's uniform or that kind of particular leaning towards black and white among the art crowd. Well, that just happens to be the reason why CDG enjoyed a cult following with the art crowd is for it's predominantly black and white colour palette. And I could not help but always regard Rei Kuwakubo as someone really iconic.
These days, I live by black and white and monochromes but I still do some colour but I just like this kind of discipline I'm imposing on my dear old self. It also goes well with getting older. You're less cheerful when you're older. You're also less adventurous. You become more pragmatic and less of a romantic yet I can be one from time to time but that's the general outlook of it. Enfin, I like less hullabaloos in my ensembles and they usually happen when I have much colour on. In the end, there seems to be this damned intention to control and be some kind of manipulator. In the future, if this goes beyond the kind of control I am hoping for, I might as well be some kind of creature of strange desires and often alienating people as if I'm Vincent Gallo in Claire Denis' Trouble Everyday. If not, I could always aspire to being a male Erika Kohut in Elfriede Jelinek's The Piano Teacher. Finalement, this doesn't really sound so MENTALLY HEALTHY, non?
